Amazing Grace on the Ergordica


This version of Amazing Grace is great for demonstrating harmonizing on the ergordica. You can find the sheet music here.

This song can be played on the tenor acoustic ergordica. In the recording above, though, I’m playing it on an electronic ergordica, using the app ThumbJam as a synthesizer. The first instrument is the cello transposed down one octave. The second instrument is the trumpet.

I think this piece allows for a good demonstration of the ergordica working as a standalone instrument. By adding in harmony notes, the music comes out a lot more interesting than just a monophonic solo. And the electronic version of the ergordica leaves the door wide open for producing some truly beautiful sounds.
